This was their last conversation before she left. It didnt seem strange to her that the princess she used to be just suddenly became so... painfully distressed. "Hey," she thought to herself, what's the point if I have to live bearing a caution every time?
She had to run, or else their guards would catch her. She needed to do it.
She went to that place... that place that always made her happy. She saw the house they made. "Finn..."
She had to brush the thought of him away. She destroyed the house, and proceeded towards the water where she knew death waited eagerly for her.
She had to do it; like any other lovestruck person, she felt the pain in her burn more than water on her skin.
"It's better this way..." She thought to her self again and again, trying to convince herself this will be worth it. "Come on Flame. It's for your own good."
"Flame..."
It was a quiet whisper of her name... the whisper that made her feel once more that she was... loved.
"Finn..." She said in a sobbing voice and still not turning to look at him.
"Why?" Was all he said.
"I just..."
Finn held her hand and pulled her close. He was wearing fire-resistant clothing. She saw him sobbing, just like the first time she knew he was her opposite element.
"I love you...", was all he said, trying to convince her not to jump.
"I... I can't take this anymore. I wish... I wish we could just be of both elements... you know, so we could freely be together without any cautions..."
"You know that's still impossible..."
"I know! That's why I'm doing this. I'm losing hope, Finn. At least in dreams you would be with me without caution..."
"I don't want you just in my dreams..."
She heard enough. She cried and tried to break free of him, but the more she struggled, the more he held her tightly.
"We can live with this. Don't you trust me?"
"I... I do, but..."
"No buts. I'm telling you Flame. We just have to understand. Please..."
He held her closer to him, and just by that her heart felt better.
"I... I guess you're right."
"I'll bear you... us..."
"And so will I."
Streaks of Flame's tears dried up on her cheeks, but she smiled... with all the knowledge and assurance she needed to have.
